Welcome the Fall Season with the Athens Storytelling Festival
Imagine a crisp fall weekend spent listening to stories that turn the everyday into works of art. Sit for a spell in our iconic red and white striped tent on the Courthouse Square in historic Athens, Alabama, and be ready to laugh and cry (or both at the same time!) at the 11th Annual Athens Storytelling Festival. Listen to stories that are at times hilarious, poignant, legendary, and occasionally downright lies told by some of the nation's best storytellers.
Our festival is surrounded by a wide variety of shops and restaurants, so take time between the tellers to browse an eclectic array of home goods, outdoor gear, hardware, apparel, antiques and general merchandise. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance, too, with plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and supper to keep the whole family happy.
It’s hard to leave home sometimes – trust us, we know. But Presbyterian Towers, the premier apartments in Decatur, Alabama, believes it is important to not only stay active in your community, but to also express curiosity about new subjects. This event is the perfect chance to spread your roots and learn new things!
