Lairdland Farm House Presents the 10th Annual Living History Weekend
Don and Bennita Rouleau, owners antebellum Historic Lairdland Farm House and the accompanying Civil War museum in the Brick Church community of Giles County, have welcomed families and tourists for the past eight years.
This is a family event that is both educational and entertaining, said Bennita Rouleau, explaining that the 19th Alabama Civilian Corp Volunteers recreate daily life during the Civil War era wearing historically accurate costumes and using appropriate equipment throughout the weekend.
Activities include demonstrations such as blacksmithing, weaving, cooking, camping, sewing, laundering, medicine, music and dancing, candle making, toys, telegraphy, mourning customs, bee keeping, soap making, and more. There is live music on Saturday performed with historic and traditional instruments.
Presbyterian Towers Apartments, the premier apartment community in Decatur, Alabama is inviting friends and neighbors to attend this unforgettable event!
